saved docx files always open in LibreOffice as liberation mono ten point, no matter what font and size I use. this is extremely irritating. how do I fix this?
It is not a DOCX, it is a TXT. You likely are hit by tdf#123476, when you created the DOCX by right-clicking a directory/desktop and using Explorer’s New menu to create a new file, as installed by MS Office.
Use Save As, and note which file type you use there. Choose DOCX as the type explicitly to be sure.
This will be changed in 7.1, but only for new files; those that already have content will not change their behavior.
