Using MS Visio, I could create a new drawing object using basic shapes, suitably sized, group them all and then save it as an object template that I could access (as an object), and use in any new drawing. As a new user of Libre Office/draw, I can do any of these EXCEPT save the created object as a template, and later use it in a new drawing.
Is that facility available in Draw?

Open the Sidebar at the Gallery pane. At the bottom click the button New to create a new theme, give it a suitable name that will appear in the gallery list at the top.
Select your object or group hold it for 2 seconds and continuing to hold, drag it into the new theme pane in Gallery. It is then available to be dragged into any of your drawings
