Screen flickers on save and newline

Since today, my libre office flickers every time I save the document or enters a newline. It looks like it starts scrolling down maybe 1/10 of the page and then rapidly jumps back again.

It happens every time I save the document, and most times entering a newline. If entering multiple newlines it flickers on the first, sometimes second and then eventually stops.

I am using LibreOffice on Ubuntu 18.04. Information on my version:

Version: 6.0.7.3
Build ID: 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.10
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

I didn’t have this issue previously. It might have appeared while rearranging the toolbars (I wanted more screen space, so shifted two toolbars at the bottom to a single line). Reverting this did not solve the problem, nor did restarting LibreOffice.

Any advice on how to potentially solve this is greatly welcome!!

I found a workaround. After reinstalling LibreOffice the issue persisted in that specific document. But, after copying the whole document into an empty document the issue disappeared, at least for now. So it seems like the issue is somehow linked to that specific document.
