I just downloaded LibreOffice and opened a spreadsheet with tens of thousands of rows. I can’t control how I scoll in the document in terms of getting to a specific row. It takes from (for example) row 55400 to 56400, and the only way I can access rows in between is by using the up and down arrows, which take forever to get to where I want. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks.
Clicking in the scrollbar area (yellow in the screenshot) either above or below the scroll handle (red in the screenshot) should move you up and down in a manner consistent with using the PageUp PageDown keys. You can click and hold for more rapid movement, depending on what the key repeat rate is set to on your operating system. In a spreadsheet with 80k rows dragging the scroll handle results in jumps of ~160 rows at a time (rather that the 1000 indicated) here - I also get a tooltip readout while dragging the scroll handle (black rectangle) indicating the row I am on.
You may be experiencing a sensitivity setting set somewhere in your operating system (which you do not mention). This setting will be accessed differently depending on your operating system.
Thanks for your reply. I don’t find the scrollbar area you reference. There is a square between an up and down arrow on the right most side of the screen. Above it is another arrow which expands the formula bar. If you have any idea of where to find the sensitivity setting, please let me know. I would like to make this program work for me if possible.
I have updated my answer for greater clarity. It sounds like it might be the “square between an up and down arrow on the right most side of the screen”.
My operating system is XP. If you know how to reset the key repeat rate that you reference if that’s possible I’d be interested in knowing. For now, using the page down/up keys is working okay. Thanks again.
