I have a set of signatures in a PDF which I’ve opened in Draw. I need to select one of the signatures and copy it to my clipboard and paste it into a Writer document. How exactly do I do that?
Right click on the signature, from the context menu, select Edit in external editor.
When the image opens in the external editor, select the part of the image that you want to copy and copy it.
Close the external editor without saving.
Paste the signature into Writer
I tried copying the signature, but it wouldn’t paste; neither Writer nor Draw could paste the signature. I ended up dealing with the issue in another way which didn’t require my signature.
It does depend on what external editor you have configured as default for your operating system. Also, if you are using an older version of LibreOffice, it might not be able to accept, say webp format.
The workaround then is to paste the clipboard back into the editor and save it as JPG or PNG.
