Sentences stacked on top of each other in impress 5.3.1

I have anew installation of 5.3.1 on my desktop and my laptop.

I created a new presentation on my desktop but when I open it on my laptop the sentences are one on top of the other.

I have Win 7 on desktop and Win10 on laptop.

Also the CAPTCHA app is in German . A huge pain in the ass for me.

I reverted back to 5.2.6.2 and the problem went away. Must be a bug in 5.3
