Set default Character Style for bulleted/numbered lists?

Is there any way to do this, or do I have to manually select the Character Style I want from Bullets & Numbering every time I create a new bulleted/numbered list?

For that reasons create specific paragraph styles and combine with a list style. For use in new documents save page style as default or template.
