Set email settings for email merge

I am unable to send an email merge. I keep getting error messages for both non-STMP and STMP setups. For the non-STMP set up, when I test the connection both boxes are checked as good. But then I get this error message. I don’t know what to do.

Microsoft Windows 11 Home
LibreOffice V25.8.4.2 (x86_64)
Mail Client: Gmail

I don’t know what to do.

How do you usually access your gmail-account?
Do you use a regular email-software like Thunderbird?
If not: When I configured my email-client to fetch from and send to gmail, I had to allow “insecure” (everything not google) legacy access first.

While my account there still works that way, I read google is going to remove POP3, so maybe also SMTP, what will leave only IMAP. You may also stumble over two factor authentification …

I access Gmail through Thunderbird. I know Gmail is changing things. I will have to figure something else out.
