Set font permanently in Writer and Spreadsheet

I have set my default font to Verdana in Writer and Spreadsheet, but most of my work is copying and pasting text from various sources. These appear on screen in whatever font they were written in. It is laborious converting them to Verdana one-by-one. Is there a way to make ALL text, both typed and pasted, display in Verdana?

Thanks

Click Edit > Paste Special > Paste as unformatted text Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V. I have added the Paste as unformatted text icon to the Standard toolbar as an extra assistance. Note that for Calc this won’t paste formulas.

An alternative is to paste normally, then select the pasted cells in Calc or text in Writer and press Ctrl+M to remove direct formatting. For Writer you might still need to change the style of the pasted text, so still with the selection, choose your paragraph style. Pressing Ctrl+0 will convert it to Text Body which is intended for normal writing. Also, Ctrl+1 for Heading 1,Ctrl+2 for Heading 2, & Ctrl+3 for Heading 3
More information on styles can be foud in the Writer Guide, free download from English documentation | LibreOffice Documentation - LibreOffice User Guides

Thanks for the suggestions, but they still involve stopping my work flow to hunt for and individually correct entries. I was hoping for a program setting that would cause Verdana to always display, whether typed or pasted. I guess that’s not possible.

Thanks again

Paste as unformatted text always takes style of receiving document. Doesn’t this work?

Have you set Verdana in the Options dialogue for Writer, or another way?

To set default cell style for Calc you would need to create a default template.

No global setting of the program, because that would give problems for people like me, who have to switch between several settings for different projects/clients.
.
But you can create your own templates to use Verdana or something else always. This will then be respected, if you use “Paste as unformatted text” as already suggested. You can even create a button for this or change to another key, with fewer modifiers…
.
But as this only helps with files created from this template, it may not prevent other fonts showing in your older files.

If you really never need the fancy stuff of this office suite, consider working in a programmers editor or maybe test a Markdown-Editor.
