Setting to let LO program e.g. Calc stay open after last file is closed

Hi, I am using LIbreOffice version 6.4.4.2 on Windows 10. Is there a setting to let a LO program such as Calc stay open after the last file is closed? LO always closes the entire program automatically after the last file is closed.

@edinburghpostdam,

The Start Center don’t remain open when you close the last document?

Do you “close” with menu File - Exit LibreOffice (or Ctrl+Q or Alt+F4 in Windows)?

Or do you use menu File - Close (or Ctrl+W or Ctrl+F4 in Windows)?

I have LoCalc shortcut in my windows taskbar which I click to open Calc, and use ctrl-W to close. Maybe the problem is I’m starting directly from calc and not the start center?

@edinburghpostdam,

I tried to open and close Calc (scalc, not soffice), and Start Center appeared when Calc closed.

Please, edit your question and add opperating system and LibreOffice version (see menu Help - About LibreOffice).

@edinburghpostdam,

Open the Start Center (LibreOffice, no LibreOffice Calc), start a new Calc document, and close the document, all the program is closed? You have experienced it in a previous version?

yes that is exactly what happens. This is my first Windows version I have used. I used to run it on Ubuntu and this didn’t happen.

@edinburghpostdam,

Maybe you could edit the title of the question and put “LO always closes the entire program automatically after the last file is closed”. It could get the attention of other users.

I was searching for, but don’t find more information. May be reinstall LO, may be version 6.3.6.
