Shared Templates for Domain Users

I am trying to figure out how, ideally with GPOs/scripts, to make it so that all of my domain users will have their templates populated by all the templates that we save into a shared SMB folder. Have been striking out big time on it.

Current approach is like this:
LibreOffice Template Discovery:

  • LibreOffice reads template search paths from registrymodifications.xcu (XML config)

  • The DirectoryList setting specifies which folders to scan for templates

  • We add file:///E:/Libre%20Templates to this list

  • LibreOffice automatically scans this folder at startup and shows all .ott files

  • New templates appear automatically - no re-registration needed

Previous Failed Approaches:

  • :x: ADMX policy - only sets SAVE location, not scan location

  • :x: Copying files to \user\template\ - files aren’t registered in XML
