Should I save my office files in OOXML or ODF?

I have been using LibreOffice since 2013 and I usually save my documents in OOXML (Office Open XML) because Microsoft Office tends to have issues opening ODF files and I want to avoid issues. LibreOffice has great support for OOXML, but it’s not perfect. ODF would be better, but once I share a document with a Microsoft Office user, then they might get warnings when they try to open the ODF file in Microsoft Office.

What is the recommended solution in this case?
