Hi All,
This is particularly an issue in Libre ‘Calc’ when scrolling sideways along a row (holding ‘Shift’ while scrolling).
Can anyone suggest what to do about it ?
Thanks very much for reading.

Not a problem I encounter. Could you post your version and system information? There is a copy button for that info on the Help>About dialog.
Tnanks joshua4,

This bug dialog might give you some ideas.

Are you using Wayland or X11? Based on Mint I’m suspecting X11, where much of this bug would seem not to apply, but the comments throughout might still be valuable. It’s not my wheelhouse, but you also could make certain you have a recent version of GTK under Mint.
LO version 6.4 is pretty long in the tooth. I might recommend trying an LO version with some age, but considerably newer. 24.8.5?
Backup, backup, backup before making changes!
I’ve run LO on Mint as may go-to office suite for years at a time; it should be able to work just fine once you find the culprit.
If you don’t have any luck but you have some developer experience, you could post here about learning to bibisect LO and contribute to the community by helping isolate the problem.
Thanks for your reply.
I have not needed to know what Wayland or X11 were before now, and after a search I still don’t really know.
I am not a developer and I dont use Terminal. I am simply a small business operator who got fed up with the high cost and low quality of MS Windows after 7 & Windows Office. Since moving to Linux Mint and Libra years ago the only sticky problems we have found is the lack of drivers for Epson printers, the lack of a copy and archive backup program for Mint - and the slow, lumpy scrolling in Calc. Otherwise so far the Mint - Libra combination has been absolutely great and we are more than pleased.
We are now down to two computers: Mine Has Mint Cinnamon 20 and the other Cinnamon 22.
The scrolling problem is a bit worse on Mint 22 and a search suggests that 22 has ‘Wayland’
So I guess we now have sticky problem/bug No 3 which we will just have to put up with - but that it is not a Libre Office problem. The wost problem is having to do manual backups all the time but that is still better than going back to Microsoft in our opinion.
Thanks for your help.
Glad to hear the commitment to LO on Linux. I’m not sure what type of backup you are wanting, but Mint Timeshift does some protection for the system, then I seem to recall using Google Backup (Drive Sync) on Mint with no issues for individual files or directories. I’d nearly be certain there is a Linux solution out there…and Linux can do RAID, etc., of course! But, that’s not what this forum is about…
