a. LibreOffice Writer 3.5.7.2
Build ID: 350m1(Build:2)
b. OS Ubuntu 12.04
Language English
(Not sure what is meant by “language of operating system.” The puter language, or the language spoken’read’write of the person asking the question?)
- I write a doc with text & pics, save it as a MS Word 97/2000/XP/2003 .doc. The pics I paste are from pics online, that I copy/paste to ‘My Pics’ folder, thru Gimp Image Editor, so that the pics aren’t directly linked to the site I got it from.
- Close the doc, then reopen it. All pics show, or some show & others don’t. Dosn’t matter when pics don’t show, just that they don’t show.
- Open the doc days/weeks/months later. Some pics show & others don’t.
- Go to: Tools > Options… > LibreOffice > Memory → change ‘Graphics cache’ to 100 MB, as pics slow down Writer performance to near inoperable. Same pics show & same pics don’t show.
- Go to Menu-Tools|Customize → Toolbars, Add-button, Category “View”, Command “Graphics on/off.” Then click on the graphics on/off icon. No pics show. Click it again. Still the same show & the same others don’t.
- Go to Menu-Edit-Links, then break links of the pics that don’t show. Same pics still don’t show.
- Cut pics that don’t show from doc. Find same pics, copy paste in doc. Now they show. Save as before, reopen, all pics show.
- Now, as before in 1-3, same pics show & same pics don’t show, & 4-7, I didn’t do before. Before the 4-7, when pics wouldn’t show, I did this & nothing else: LOW Menu-Tools-Options-LibreOffice Writer-View-Check the Display to show Graphics & Objects. The pics that wouldn’t show, showed. But then, as in 3, same issue.
I’m hoping that since I did 4-7, rather than just 8, the pics will all display when I open the same doc days/weeks/months later. If they don’t display as before, I don’t know what to do next, if there is any next.
Anybody else have any other ideas?
