‘protege’ is identified as mis-spelt, and ‘protégé’ isn’t, but ‘protégé’ is not suggested as a correction.

Can’t answer your primary question; but get help link on LibreOffice main site gives direct link to Bugzilla’s new issue entry page. There you may search for existing issues, and also when you type your new issue’s title, it searches and suggests you possible duplicates.
