Is there a setting to check?
The language of the document to be spell checked must match the language of an installed spell checker.
Check in the Status bar at the bottom to see the language of selected text. Also, if it says None then it will not be spell checked at all.
Check the words added to the user dictionary for errors. Click Tools > Spelling and click the Options button. Select standard [All] and click Edit, check if any of the incorrect words or phrases are listed there, if so, delete them. Check in other user dictionaries if used.
