Split long cell content between pages when printing

Hi all!

I have a column with long cell contents. When printing, if there’s not enough space on the page for the entire content, the whole cell goes to the other page. This is not a problem for short cell content, but in this case, it produces half empty pages…

My question would be: Is there a way to split the content of 1 cell when printing so the first few lines stay on the bottom of the current page and the rest of it on the top of the next? (just like in writer when half of the paragraph stays on the current page, while the other half goes to the next page.)

The obvious workaround may be way better than you would at first imagine.
Make sure your long text cells in Calc are wrapping by Auto Word Wrap. Then you can highlight your print range on your Calc sheet, copy it, then paste it into Writer using (right click) Paste Special>More Options>HTML. It may not suffice for your needs, but it is way more well-behaved than at least I expected. It will even re-flow the word wrap for you to try to fit the margins of the Writer document. I mean, it looks nice.
If you want grid lines on your “printout” (the Writer document), you might set borders on the Calc content before copying it.
I can’t overstate how much better this works than basically any other spreadsheet-to-text I’ve seen before.

Ok, good to know, I’ll try this a bit later, and report back.

Yup, this works and will do! Thank you for answer!
