I am trying to keep LibreOffice as my office suit but issues like this that do not seem to be getting fixed are real issues and unless they are fixed soon, I will be leaving LibreOffice.
I am using 3.5.4.2 on Ubuntu 12:04LTS

First of all, I would suggest you to update your LibO version to the latest stable version: LibO 3.5.7 or LibO 3.6.4. Soon (in early February 2013) LibO 3.6.5 and LibO 4.0.0 would be released. If your problems are not solved yet in these versions, then please be patient and wait until your reported bugs would be fixed. If you haven’t reported your bugs, please do so at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=LibreOffice with detailed description, problem file and screenshots (if available).
