Spreadsheets corrupt

Since this morning, my spreadsheets can not be opened on my linux mint with Libre Office 7.6.7.2 with the error:

The file "x.ods.' is corrupt and therefore cannot be opened. Libreoffice can try to repair the file.

The corruption could be a result of document manupulation or of structural document damage due to transmission.

We recommend that you do not trust the content of the repaired document. Execution of macros has been disable for this document.
Should libre office repair the file?

if i click yes I get:

The file 'x.ods' could not be repaired and therefore canot be opened.

I’m using Dropbox. I copied the file and then restored to an earlier version. Both files give the same result. I tried opening some other .ods files and get he same result.

When I open the file on my linux lite with LO 7.2 I can open it but I get an error

The data could not be loaded completely because the maximum number of columns per sheet was exceeded.

here is a link to the file that I have been sharing with people on redit. I realize it was giving permission to edit so I’ve changed it to view only.

I reinstalled libre office and now before the above errors I get a window that says

The lock file could not be created for exclusive access by Libreoffice, due to missing permission to create a lock file on that file location or lack of free disk space.
Select Notify to open read-only and get notified when the document becomes editable

The xls file format is limited to 256 columns. If you create a document with a recent spreadsheet application that uses more than 256 columns and then save as xls, the result is data loss.

This is not a typical Windows program. Re-installing replaces the old bytes with the same new bytes.

Save your stuff in the Windows documents folder “My Files” of the currently logged-in user. And always save them in the native file format of the application you are using (Open Document Spreadsheet in this case).

LO 7.2 (which is obsolete legacy anyway) Calc supported maximum 1k columns, if your document uses more than that you need at least LO 7.4 (evenly obsolete legacy) to open it without data loss, from which on 16k columns are supported.

If you edit documents directly in a DropBox folder it is also likely that DropBox destroyed your document, it doesn’t cope well with files changing while syncing.

Your dropbox link wants me to login to download so it’s not even possible to take a look at the document.

I think that someone on dropbox edited my file using newer version of LO and then saved it. I updated to a newer version and was able to open the file.
