I’ve created an ordinary file in several pages. After a few edits Libre office show page 1 top right then page 2 below left then page 3 below right a,n so on. Why is this and how can I fix it.
Now I have several odt files for the different sections. How do I concatenate them better then cut and paste successively into a total file?

regarding your original question - most probably you have enabled Book View - click the icon where the green arrow points to (assuming option View -> [x] Status Bar ticked).
Regarding your second question in your Answer (which isn’t an answer to your original question). May be LibreOffice Help - Master Documents and Subdocuments is what you are looking for.
