Suddenly files are locked

All of my documents, which were accessible yesterday, are producing this error message when I try to open them: “The lock file could not be created for exclusive access by LibreOffice, due to missing permission to create a lock file on that file location or lack of free disk space.” The only thing that’s changed on my computer is that Windows 10 installed an update. But that may not be related.

Any idea what caused this?

robleyd: Yup. Controlled Folder Access in Windows Defender was the problem - and it screwed up two other programs of mine. Never would have figured that out. Thanks so much!
