According to a recent announcement, we will have new system administrators soon. They will be appointed from the ranks of high-reputation users.
I thought I’d start this thread to collect suggestions on how to make Ask LibO better so that the new sysadmins / moderators will be able to get a running start. Here are a few suggestions:
- Allow new users to comment directly
below the Answer to their Question.
As of now, they are unable to do so
because of low rep and so they use
an Answer to their own Question to
request clarification to an Answer
given by someone else, which is
stupid. - Allow new users to upvote Answers to
their Question immediately. Not
every good Answer provides a solution so does not
deserve to be Accepted, but it may
deserve an upvote! - Reduce rep required to edit
community wiki from 750 to 100 or
even lower. Keeping new contributors
out via high barriers defeats the
purpose of this website. - Closing a question requires 2000
rep. Much too high, reduce to 500 or
less.
In general, make it so that using Ask LibO is not frustrating and infuriating to new users. At present, the site is not good enough.
