my suggestion is a more organized color pallet with one row for every Hue… maybe like this:

I’ve created a color palette that can be used to replace the default colors and which has the colors organized. It can be found on this page. Simply download the standard.soc file and replace your existing palette with this one. Be sure to close LibreOffice before replacing the file. When you start LibreOffice again, you will be able to use the new palette.
On Windows, paste the standard.soc file into this folder (replace [user] with your username):
C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\configThe arrangement of the colour picker and related palettes is changing from a hues-by-row to a hue-by-column style of presentation, not only in LO, but also in most other applications. The reason being there is a limited number of columns, but a far greater number of available rows. The example offered by @razon_22 is indicative of the types of mock-ups being put forward by the Design team.
To compound this matter the number of rows in the colour picker has changed from 10 (prior to v3.4) to 8 (v3.4 to v4.1) to 12 (in the up coming v4.2). While the change from 10 to 8 and 8 to 12 have been made for consistency reasons (the latest to bring LO in-line with AOO) this means that colour palette files (SOC) are relatively version-dependent.
