when I highlight several cells the sum used to appear in a toolbar at the bottom of the worksheet. The sum no longer appears and I can’t figure out why and what to do to make it appear.

Right click on the Status Bar (Check option View -> [X] Status Bar activated in advance) and assure that Sum should be shown in Status Bar.

so while I see the sum occasionally, not consistently and while status bar is checked, I can’t see where to right click to show sum
