I’m trying to make a Calc scorecard.
The sheet has 23 columns. First column is names of the teams. Second and Third
Columns are totals scores for the two categories of games. The remaining 20 columns are for a different game each.
My goal is to have the person using the sheet to score to put a place number in the game’s column for each team
(e.g. Team 1 is 4 for 4th place, Team 2 is 6 for 6th place. Each place gets a different score. 1st place = 25pts, 2nd = 21, 3rd = 16, 4th = 10, 5th = 8, 6th = 6, 7th = 4, 8th = 2.
My goal is to have a score keeper just enter place result in the game column while the sheet does the work of converting place to a score and adding that score to the appropriate score column. Is this just one long nested “if” statement?
I’m having a real tough time trying to find the words to search the web to do this myself.
Probably just me being too inexperienced with spreadsheets. Thanks for any insight you can give.
