Synchronise sheet view in calc

System/version info
image

So running on Linux Mint.
I would like to be able to open each of a number of spreadsheets in the same place/same view.
So I have a number of spreadsheets with identical layouts (different info) and these are linked to other sheets in same file which are summaries of the individual sheets.
I want to check the same data in each individual sheet but every time I open a sheet I need to move to the relevant area - which becomes annoying when I just want to flick through 30 or so sheets.
I know I can shift & click or cntrl & click to select a number of sheet tabs and then making a change to one sheet will make the same change to all the sheets - but that doesn’t change the view -which is what I would like to do. And the area isn’t always the same so no point me freezing rows etc on individual sheets (and I think I would have to do that for each sheet).
I’ve read some things about tiling windows and grouping sheets and synchronising - not sure if they are for excel or for windows os but nothing is working for my set up (I can’t even tile 2 versions of the same file through LO/calc - I can do that using Linux -Super key & cursor etc.
Is there a way of doing what I want that I just can’t see - have I got a setting wrong somewhere?
Any help much appreciated - its one of those little things that starts to irritate me more than it probably should ! thanks

Shouldn’t be >Window>New Window help?
You can create more than one view this way, and the respective frames (windows) can be positioned and resized independently.
However, there is neither a tool (afaik) for automatic tiling or something like that, nor can the data for multiple views be written to the file.
If you urgently want such “features”: Have a lot of fun writing user code.

I would love to able to write the user code to do that - but I’m really not clever enough…
I just thought there might be a way and I just don’t know enough to be able to do what I want to do -basically I am being stupid. .
(I’m old …when I was at school we didn’t have computers and I’ve never had an official computer lesson - everything I know is self taught or through asking for advice from people who know a lot more than I do…)
I do try and help others where I can with the little knowledge I have and I do try to educate myself more. (And make donations to LO, Mozilla, Linux etc) to do what I can I really appreciate everyone who does the coding etc esp as it has allowed me to escape from Microsoft - from 3.1 onwards I discovered as every update appeared I lost more and more control of MY computer and had my privacy invaded …
Sorry if I appeared ungrateful - it really isn’t the case - just having a bit of a bad day and this minor inconvenience is annoying me more than it probably should! (Esp as I keep reading the wrong columns, making accidental mouse clicks etc - so I am annoyed with myself more than anything)

You don’t need to apologize.
However, your terminology looks a bit strange to me. I’m not sure if I understood it as intended.
Anyway I thought my suggestion would already do most of what you need, and the sizing, positioning, and choosing of the wanted one of the multiple frames as the remaining handywork could be accepted.

Thank you -I do really hope I didn’t come across as ungrateful and I know this isn’t a major problem - like I said just a bit of an irritation.
I can do the new window thing but it doesn’t really help. (That seemed to part of a solution to this problem I found online - but I have a feeling that was in Excel -or using Windows OS…as I am just not seeing what it says I should)
To clarify I have these sheets which I just need to double check some of the data against a completely different (and shared) spreadsheet which is kind of a summary of the information but I can’t link to it for various reasons. Most of the data will be right but if someone has made a change and forgotten to tell me it doesn’t…
So I have both files open next to each other - in ‘my’ file I click on one of the individual sheets to check that the data matches (or doesn’t) the other file but as the view in each of my spreadsheets is showing different parts of the sheet I first need to locate the right area.
I am wondering if there is a way I can select all these sheets (around 30) and make it so when I open each sheet it is in the same place on the sheet so I know right away I am looking at the right info.
I should say that at the moment there are 4 areas per the sheet and they all look identical which makes it trickier -I have to look at the name of the area. When I do this again next year, if I can’t make all the sheets be in the same place I will do colour highlight or something to make it more obvious I am in the wrong place!
Does that make more sense?

My suggestion was about LibO Calc, and this software is multi platform. The term “Window(s)” In my suggestion isn’t about the OS.

I think I know what you meant by window - just the view/areas on the screen - like ‘tiles’ - I do open sep windows sometimes to compare different sheets in the same file. (My reference to Excel/Windows OS was just about what I said in original message - windows/tiles/synchronising was in a ‘solution’ I found that was supposed to for Calc and Linux - but I don’t think it was as I am just not seeing what it says I should - or maybe its for a really old version of LO or something.)
I was also mentioned that these sheets contain links to different sheets in the same file in case that is making things more difficult …
I was also wondering if Navigator could help -but I don’t really understand how that works…
Thanks again for your help
