I’m working on different (Windows) computers and use lots of words that aren’t in the default dictionary. It would be great to be able to sync dictionaries or even entire user profiles across many computers using Dropbox or similar services.
What I’ve tried so far:
- set the default user path in bootstrap.ini to a custom Dropbox path on my HDD
- manually change the paths via Options → LibreOffice → Paths to the Dropbox path
Both to no avail. When I tried the first method, Libreoffice just crashed at startup. It managed to create a “user” folder in the desired directory though.
The second approach did exactly nothing. I set a new path in the options and set it as the default dictionary path and OK’ed the dialogue, then added a few words to the dictionary via spell check and checked the Dropbox folder - it was empty. Checking the LibreOffice Paths options again, the path just wasn’t there anymore - LO apparently deleted it without notifying me. Not even deleting the standard folder does anything, LO just creates it again and deletes the Dropbox path.
Any idea what’s going on here? Any help would be much appreciated.
