Tabbed UI on MacOS is not properly aligned

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the process of switching from MS Office to LibeOffice and want to use the tabbed user interface, because it makes the transition easier and I find that the structure makes it easier for me to find certain functions.
However, what is bugging me is that the “tab bar” (the different sections, like file, start, etc) are somehow not aligned in the middle of the window but moved to the right and therefore overlap with other design elements. I know it doesn’t limit functionality, but it is annoying simply looks bad. See screenshot for reference, the “Extras” section goes into the darker gray area and also the quick access icons on the left somehow seem a bit “intrusive”.
Is there any way to fix this? I’ve googled the problem already and found a few instances on the web where other people complained, but so far no solution.

Thanks and kind regards
Martin

PS: Most recent version of LO (25.2.03) and most recent version of MacOS on an M1 Pro MacBook pro.

The tabs are in fact left aligned, it is the right edge of the screen that has hidden the Zoom icons.

Can you change the screen scale? The image below is from Windows at different screen scales.

It is possible to click Tools > Customise > Notebookbar, select the various tabs and untick some of the elements to stop them from displaying. This might shorten the width needed.
.

I suggest that you consider displaying the menu, click the leftmost icon (tooltip Menubar) to toggle visibility. I think it should show keyboard shortcuts as well, as it does for Windows.

Personally, I find the Sidebar the most useful of the toolbars and I use the icons above less and less.

Hey there (not sure if talking to a person or an AI),
not helpful. The tabbed registers are definitely centered (more or less) and I’m not missing any zoom icons, not matter how wide I make the window.
The menubar icon on the left does exactly nothing on the mac, not sure what it is useful for.

Martin
