Table is invisible in writer when using dark theme

In older LibreOffice version, I can change the document display theme in Writer with Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Application Colors > Scheme then from the drop-down, select LibreOffice Dark. The text and table looks white on black paper.

In newer version that option moved to Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Appearance > LibreOffice Themes. I choose Dark in drop-down menu and disable Use white document background but only the text is white, the table border is dark. I can set the table border color to white but that border will be invisible to other people with light theme.

Is there a way to bring back old theme behavior?

I am afraid you can’t.

Text colour can be set to Automatic, meaning Writer will choose a contrasting colour (foreground vs. background) taking into account the local environment, aka. the theme.

In practically all other cases, including table borders, you must select a colour from the menu which has no Automatic choice. In other words, you lock the colour to your selection and it will not react to environment changes.

I suggest you file an enhancement request on Bugzilla.
