… but there’s nothing offered to unhide it. Right click offers ‘Display’ but it doesn’t seem to change anything. Funny tho, nothing actually seems to be missing.

You did not mention that the table probably is part of a section?
(IMO text as character or paragraph can be hidden but not tables themselves.)
If so - the section seems not to be visible when unhidden. Bug since … (regression?)
Workaround
- menu Format | sections… ↦ Unhide
- menu Format | sections… ↦ Remove
- leave sections… properties control
- Hit shortcut CTRL + Z - the section and its included table should be existing and visible
- (In some cases the workaround may be shorter.)
