Tables in Writer keep resetting width on file reopen

Libreoffice 6.4.4, OS: Arch Linux

The problem is simply that I adjust column or entire table width, save the file, reopen it, and tables once again take entire pagewidth and have equally spread columns.

This problem seems to be isolated to .odt files, .docx keeps tables as-is through reopening the program.

Am I missing some kind of setting? This didn’t seem to happen until somewhat recently.

Do you embed fonts? See tdf#124470.

Also, when you right-click in table and Table Properties, in Table tab, is Alignment set to Automatic?

@ajlittoz alignment property resets as well. I tried changing it.

@mikekaganski thanks, this is indeed the issue I am having. Now I have to think whether I prefer precise tables of 40 times the file size…
