Tabulated data can't be seen in XLS

I have recently installed LibreOffice on XUbuntu but am unable to find the expected tabulated data in table one in this document:

I get exactly the same content in Excel and Calc:

I use Calc under Win11, version 24.2.3.
Please give us your version number.

There appears to be no other data, also Gnumeric and GoogleSheets display only the hand-painted merged cells’ content on both sheets, 'Notes and Terms & Conditions'.A1:I42 and 'Table 1'.A1:D14. Note that 'Notes and Terms & Conditions'.A31 contains a hyperlink Deaths registered in England and Wales (Series DR) and that page lists a bunch of datasets.
