Testing libre office 4: OS slow boot?

Hi,

I thought I’d give libre office 4 a spin and see what I thought.

I downloaded the windows installer and after installation I was prompted to reboot. I did so and now my machine takes a long time to start. It will start now but it is infuriatingly slow compared with its before libre office state.

System spec:

HP probook 5330m
Win 7 pro

Hi @Antihippy

  1. Let’s give you some karma so you may comment on things.
  2. What version of LO were you using previously?
  3. Slow OS boot sounds super-bizarre to me. I’m going to sic @jorendc on this one

Agreed to qubit :Installing LibreOffice resulting in a slow OS is quite bizarre… I think there is something more going on on your computer. Therefore, if your computer is still very slow, maybe a system restore will help: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/system-restore-windows-7.htm

Wotcha,

Thanks for replying guys.

I’m not currently a LO user. I decided to switch out to try LO4 as an alternative to MS Office (for work).

I did a little bit of investigation over the weekend and determined that it wasn’t interacting very well with encryption.

After doing some investigation I determined that there was a problem with the way that HD encryption was interacting with the installer. With that disabled boot back to normal…
