The Chinese language pack of LibreOffice does not work

I install LibreOffice 6.3.4 on our Moodle system (CentOS 7.3). It successfully convert English Word file into PDF. However, it still does not support Chinese character. Therefore, install traditional Chinese language pack as follow:
under the directory of LibreOffice_6.3.4.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm_langpack_zh-TW\RPMS
I run the below:
yum localinstall *.rpm

The installation looks successful. The below rpm is installed.
libreoffice6.3-zh-TW-6.3.4.2-2.x86_64
libobasis6.3-libreofficekit-data-6.3.4.2-2.x86_64

Unfortunately, when I run the Annotated PDF for grading on Moodle, it stills cannot convert the Chinese characters on WORDS into PDF. Instead, it shows square symbol.

What steps did I miss? Please advise how to solve this problem.
Best Regards,

Kelvin Ma

I have not encountered problems exporting to PDFs with Chinese/Japanese. Share a sample file to see what could be the problem.

P. S. I have no idea what Moodle is. The issue may be there.

You have enabled support for chinese in the Language settings have you. TOOLS > OPTIONS > LANGUAGE SETTINGS > LANGUAGES > ASIAN > CHINESE (HONG KONG) ??

Also if you are getting little boxes instead of Chinese characters it looks as if you are using a font that does not contain Chinese characters.

I assume you are storing the source file as a normal standard .odt file. If you were using .doc or .docx the results could be unpredictable,
