The content navigation view expands automatically when I click a heading or subheading. Is there a way to switch off this behavior? I mean when I click a heading or subheading the text cursor going to that portion in the document is fine. But when I click a heading or subheading in the document the Navigation view expands automatically. This is a distraction (May be only for me, probably a personal preference). Is there a way to switch of this behavior?
Which LO version are you using?
Please upload two screeshot images about the before/after state.
If I use LibreOffice 6.2.8.2 clicking in a heading in the document does not expand the headings in Navigator.
LibreOffice 7.2.6.2 does expand the headings, so does 7.4.0.3; it seems convenient to me.
If you find the movement distracting you could select another element in Navigator and click the Content Navigation View button so the view won’t change unless you click on that element. But you don’t see the document structure…
LO 7.3.4.2 under Fedora (linux) 36, KDE Plasma desktop:
To navigate to a heading, I double-click on name and it doesn’t expand. To expand a heading, I must click on the small triangle at left of name.
So, there are two different clickable areas with different effect.
I kind of remember this behaviour changed but can’t tell in which release. Please check you click on the correct area. If it doesn’t work on your computer, it then may be a feature of the widget library. “Standard” UI is with GTK+ (GNOME desktop), while I preferred Qt. Don’t know how it works under Window$.
