The Office Task Bar

Will it be possible to customize the (Writer) taskbar in the future updates?
I have found multiple occasions on the net about people (especially translators, but everyone who wants to use the language settings on the taskbar) who regret the language button to disappear when the writer window is too narrow. This generally happens on laptops with the ever so wonderfully mobile screen of 16 inches and 1920 pixels wide…
The irritating issue is, that the page and words fields take up a lot of space. Frankly, I don’t even need them, nor do I wish to see how many words or pages I have written during my typing.
So, why is there no possibility to change what I see on the taskbar?

Thanks - and hoping for a miracle (because switching to MS Office I will not)

And you can try to change your settings for operation in the UI. Do you know:

User interface in Writer and

Parts of the main Writer window

The first step for improvements is usually a bug report of type enhancement at bugzilla.
.

…but it is only described for the toolbars, not for status bar. I didn’t try until now to change this…

For me, Language doesn’t disappear until I go below 840 pixels, somewhat less than half screen.

@Wanderer ,
Don’t be mad, but reading might help.

It didn’t help in this case, so I’m obviously lucky it is not my question…

IMHO there is no “(Writer) taskbar”. The actual taskbar is part of the (Windows) OS. I understood @JosGeusens meant the bottom “status bar” of the writer window. And until now I have not found this to be configurable…

In any case, the status bar can be turned off.

Chapter 1, Introducing Writer

It can be hidden by deselecting it in the View menu.

Ok, one point for you. You can switch it off yourself.
.
But to help @JosGeusens he would need to remove other elements of the status bar to have space for the language, or influence the sequence, wich element is removed first.
