for example, sum function =SUM(F107:F222) the values in each cell are variable but let’s say they total 350. if i add a cell with a value of 70, the total doesn’t change. if, on the other hand, i change the value in an existing cell, the total also does not change. the only answer i have found is to reenter all of the column figures over again… i hope someone knows an easier way! thank you.

in general the reason for this behavior is: Option Sheet -> Calculate -> [ ] AutoCalculate unticked. Activate, if it is deactivated, and check again.

so far so good. the autocalculate option was already ticked and initially i had the problem again. for some reason i decided to unclick and then reclick the autocalulate option, and it worked! thanks for your help and i hope it “sticks”!
