the version 7.1.3 worked on 6/8/21, but won't open today. What can I do?

I had an earlier vison and downloaded the newest version 7.1.3 it worked on 6/8/21, but will not open today. It tries to open recovery window pops up with files not recovered yet. I click start, it starts says successfully recovered. I click ok. The whole file shuts down and them the document recovery file pops opens again showing not recovered yet. I have run a system diagnostic system, no viruses or corrupted files. I also tried a system restore backed 3 days prior. The same thing happens. I’ve tried to send crash report, I don’t know if it went through
Please help I don’t know what to do?

If you are on Windows and didn’t shut the computer down then Windows Update probably did it for you, crashing out LO if still left open.

Probably best is to cancel recovery (I think the button is discard) then see if LibreOffice opens OK. If it does, your file might still be OK, or maybe missing the last few unsaved changes.

If LibreOffice doesn’t open then try starting LibreOffice in its Safe Mode. In Windows that would be Start menu > LibreOffice > LibreOffice (Safe mode) . If it opens OK then your user profile might be corrupted.

This is a clear indicator your LibreOffice user profile is corrupted.

I have a similar problem. I don’t use LibreOffice that often. I tried today to check some files and it just won’t open. I do not see any file system errors or recovery messages; just nothing when I click the icon. I also tried using ‘Run as Admin’ and clicking on SOFFICE.EXE and SOFFICE_SAFE.EXE. Just nothing
happens. I suspect the Windows Update I installed on 06/09.

I installed 7.1.4 and all is working. I was on 7.1.3 before. It is quite possible that just re-installing 7.1.3 would also have fixed the problem but I’ll never know now.
