System: LibreOffice 7.4.7.2, on Cinnamon desktop, on lightdm display manager, on X11 windowing system, on Debian bookworm.
Problem
When I try to edit [or sometimes even display] a base Form or Report the edit view appears, but in my entire main display screen but without any title bar buttons!, … like without the X in the upper right of the window so I can close or fold down the window.
It’s almost like it goes directly to full screen. Am I the only one who is seeing this new UI bug?
I was finally able to figure out how to get a screenshot of this Report editor:
I’ve used LO for many years but only recently upgraded from 5.4 to version 7. I had planned on staying with 5.4 as it doesn’t have the new bugs in Base that seem to have been added to Versions 6 and 7 but unfortunately v5.4 won’t seem to run on Debian Bookworm.
Workarounds
-
In Forms, I can work around this by clicking
Menu | View | Full screen
, then again clickingMenu | View | Full screen
. -
In Reports, I can click
Menu | File | Close
. -
Ctrl-Alt right arrow moves to another desktop set, and Ctrl-Alt up arrow to a desktop set chooser.
-
Pressing the Windows key opens the Linux desktop menu (helpful to find a screen shot utility).
-
Shift-WindowsKey right arrow, moves this to the secondary monitor, so I can get at my desktop panel. (Unfortunately the window resizing keys like Windows-RightArrow or WindowsUpArrow don’t work.)
