Toolbar buttons do not change color when toggled

I noticed that when I don’t use SKIA in LibreOffice writer : Options > View > Graphic Output > Use SKIA for all rendering , The buttons in the toolbar do not become highlighted when they are clicked.
For instance , when i press CTRL + B to turn fonts bold , the “B” button does not become highlighted.

It does not matter whether I turn HW acceleration on or off , the result is the same if SKIA is not used.

Is there a fix for that or does one have to use SKIA on linux mint with a cinnamon desktop ?

System infos :

Version: 7.3.7.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 30(Build:2)
CPU threads: 20; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: x11
Locale: en-CA (en_CA.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Ubuntu package version: 1:7.3.7-0ubuntu0.22.04.4
Calc: threaded

Graphics : NVIDIA GTX 1070

Your details show you are using Skia but with software rendering. If that gives the best result then that is what should be set for your computer.

Skia is used to render your screen

I removed the LibreOffice system package and installed the flathub version which is more up to date.
That seem to have solved the issue.
