I have a new iMac 21.5" running MacOS 10.13.6. Why is the top of the text cut off in dialogs?

Try to disable OpenGL. In the menu Tools>Options>LibreOffice>View.

I resolved this by disabling a font that I’d installed (Sackers Heavy).
