Trouble Printing Labels

I’m trying to create Christmas mailing labels from an ods file I select File/New/Labels and I get the labels dialog box.W hen I click on Labels/Database: I don’t see my database file which is named Christmas cards 2021.ods I also don’t see a choice to browse my computer to get to the right database. I have been playing with this so long today I have several bogus copies shoved in there somewhere.
I have Christmas cards 2021 showing underneath the labels dialog box. Can anyone help me??

I am running an iMac with OSMojave and LibreOffice 7.1.6.2

You need to register your ods as a data source first, see Registering an Address Book

It might be easier to first look through the Mail Merge chapter (14) in the Writer Guide 7.1 downloadable from documentation to get an overall idea and also for more detailed instructions.

Thanks to @EarnestAl and @Hrbrgr for the quick responses. I will download the documentation and read through it. I was able to finally get the print out I needed and discovered my problem was when I went to to print it and looked at the preview it was displaying field names, but when I actually printed it the data printed properly.

I just switched from file maker as I recently purchased a new iMac and the old file maker will not run on this new machine, also I hate subscription services for programs but I don’t use every day. I mistakenly thought I could just whip through this program on my own due to my past knowledge of databases. The quick and easy approach is not always quick or easy. :smirk:
