Trying Assign macro to toolbar in calc causes application error

Trying Assign macro to toolbar causes application error.
Below is the sequence of actions before the error occurred.
Tools → Customize, Toolbars tab.
Category: Macros (at the bottom of the list)
… and now the file is being closed due to an error.

Version: 7.3.7.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 30(Build:2)
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: pl-PL (pl_PL.UTF-8); UI: pl-PL
Ubuntu package version: 1:7.3.7-0ubuntu0.22.04.6
Calc: threaded

This can happen when building the list of macros available for assignment.
First, try updating your LO version.

I have followed your advice and upgraded to Version: 24.8.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community, Build ID: 480(Build:2). However, the error still persists when I try to assign a macro to the toolbar.

Would you have any other suggestions for troubleshooting this issue?

Next step:
Check if the error occurs when restarting in safe mode.
If everything is OK in safe mode, then the problem is in user macros (or extensions).

I think it is better to use a stable version of LO - now it is LO 24.2.6.2

Thank you. Disabling unnecessary extensions helped, and the issue has been resolved.

  • I disabled unnecessary extensions via Tools → Extension Manager.
  • After disabling non-essential extensions, the problem was resolved, and I was able to assign macros to the toolbar without the application crashing.

In my opinion, it would be good if you could identify which extension is causing LO to crash and report it to Bugzilla. This might help developers avoid crashes in similar cases.
