When adding photos to a new Writer document (Ver. 6.1.3.2) typing slows to a crawl, a full second or so elapses between characters. In searching for solutions, I found this was a common complaint, and you could increase the photo cache to solve the problem–in older versions of LO. But now that has been intentionally made difficult for anyone but ADVANCED users…which I am not.
I have an existing document written in an earlier version of Writer which seems not to be affected. It has dozens of photos, and 18,000 words of text, and I can edit it without difficulty–though now using 6.1.3.2.
There seems to be a switch of some sort that needs to be adjusted. Please help. I’ve used this software for years and have contributed some modest funds to the enterprise, but I’ll have to go back to Word (argh!) if I can’t get this problem resolved.
