I need to edit some slides, and I cannot open the sidebar (the Ctrl+F5 item from the View menu) in Libre Impress; the menu interface and the key shortcuts do nothing. I don’t know what I did to make the sidebar disappear; it was just not there one time when I opened a slideshow to edit it, and now I can’t view it from anywhere. An uninstall followed by a reinstall did not work. Thnx
Hello,
probably the fastest way to get it back would be to reset your user profile.
To reset the user profile perform:
- Start LibreOffice
- Start in Safe Mode using
Help -> Restart in Safe Mode
and confirm the restart using button:Restart
- Archive your profile expanding
Advanced
(click on the word Advanced right aboveHelp
button) and clickArchive User Profile
button - Select option
Reset to factory settings
- Activate
[x] Reset entire user profile
- Click button
Apply Changes and Restart
Please note If a problem is caused by a corrupt user profile / misconfiguration, reinstalling LibreOffice won’t help at all, since reinstalling LibreOffice won’t touch the user profile. Therefore: Before reinstalling check whether the user profile might be the cause of a problem.
Hope that helps.
Thank you Opaque; that fixed the problem.
