Unable to play M4A files in Impress

I’ve installed LO v7.0.4.2 on Windows 10. I’m trying to add M4A audio files to an Impress presentation, however, when I try to add the file I get the error message “The format of the selected file is not supported”. However, the file can be played in VLC, Groove Music and WMP.

I have also tried this with LO v6.4 but no luck.

Opening a MS Powerpoint file in Impress also will not play the M4A audio files in the presentation.

Assistance would be grateful as this is required play school presentations for my children.

  1. Can you play other audio m4a files? (from the internet for example?)
  2. Can you play other formats? For example mp3 files?

… after adding/including them in impress?
