unlock read only files

how do I unlock files that are real only??

I just tested this on a MacBook Air OS 11.0.1 (Big Sur) with LibreOffice version 7.0.3.1, and it worked.

1. Open the Read Only file you wish to unlock (“Read Only Test.odt” in this case).

2. Save it File->Save As as a file with a different name (“Read Only Test 2.odt” in this case).

3. Open the newly “saved as” file. It should be unlocked.

On my Ubuntu 20.04 it doesn’t work quite so well. The copy IS unlocked, but everything you add gets marked at an addition…
