In Office Writer, occasionally, when copying articles from the web empty boxes appear over the text and verticle lines at the end of every sentence. I can’t find a way to remove them.
It sounds like you are not pasting as raw text, so all the extra stuff from the webpage is being put into your document. Does it work to use Edit > Paste Special > Paste Unformatted Text ?
