Updating to latest version has lost soffice.exe

I have just tried to update to the latest version as of 18/07/20, but the installer says libreofice not available on network.
The old libreoffice now says soffice.exe missing and doesnt load up.
What is the fix please?

I have uninstalled the old package, with no effect. I still get the same screen errors as above.

The final error message on closing the failed install attempt says

“Error 1714 Older version cannot be removed”

I opened the page you suggested, a long list of older versions, I clicked on the one I think I need and it takes me to my ‘compose and email’ page

The previous Version was 6.4.3.2

I have noted your comment about downloading an older version, but a version chosen from the list merely takes me to an EMail page. How do I get to an older version download.

Yes I am being asked for the old msi installation package, which I have identified as 6.4.3.2…

Thanks all for your advice, I have finally solved the issue using Microsoft’s Fix install and uninstall FAQ’s.

Assuming you are on Windows - have you been asked for the old MSI installation package when installing the new version? If yes - which one was your previous version. Try to uninstall your old version now and provide any error message - uploading a screenshot of the message might be very helpful).

**[Edit](https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/updating-to-latest-version-has-lost-soffice-exe/54857)** your original question to upload and to provide addiitonal information. Don't use *Add Answer* for that.

You obviously used some third party software updater from IObit, and this causes the mess (in conjunction with a MSI installer cache issue). Where did you get the installation package for 6.4.5.2 from? Without knowing the previous version you had installed, no detailed procedure to fix the problem can be given.

You would need to download your previous version (which I don't know) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/, rename the installation package to the name of given in the error message (i.e. to `c6161864c95be00321c448ee4144f4c3.msi` - please double check yourself) and provide that file via the `Browse` button, when the error message appears on 6.4.5.2 installation.
**PS:** Don't use any third party software updater, since the cause more problems than they solve and introduce in fact just an additional level of obscurity (my personal opinion)

The link in my comment above is correct to get older versions and a I don’t know what you understand by “EMail page

Additionally I didn't state **an** older version but **the** older version. The difference is that you need to download the **exact same** older version you had installed before. You did not provide this exact version and hence I was not able to give you **the exact** link to the file you need to download.

A simpler solution is to follow the FAQ (Use troubleshooter tool from Microsoft section).

Yes I am being asked for the old msi installation package, which I have identified as 6.4.3.2

Hence … [https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/6.4.3.2/win/x86_64/LibreOffice_6.4.3.2_Win_x64.msi](http://Yes I am being asked for the old msi installation package, which I have identified as 6.4.3.2) is the file you need to download, rename and provide to the installer if being asked (or follow @mikekaganski’s advice)

Re: the screenshot in the question: I seem to recall another question involving that “IObit” thing…?
