The new colored Google emoji look nice but, at least on a Debian 11 system, they substantially slow down LibreOffice when you have many of them.
Is there a way to use the old black-and-white emojis?
If I uninstall fonts-noto-color-emoji they just get replaced by rectangles, whereas on older versions of LO they were properly rendered in black and white and didn’t slow anything down.
Note : as a temporary solution I can use the Symbola font which overrides Google’s emoji. However I’d prefer the old behavior where I could use any font.
